March 6, 2007 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Rochester RazorSharks News Release

(Rochester, New York)...The Rochester RazorSharks and their 3,787 fans brought the sub-zero temperatures into The Blue Cross Arena on Tuesday night as they froze out the Vermont Frost Heaves 106-98 in a battle of two of the American Basketball Association's top teams. Vermont was rated #1 in the ABA Power Rankings coming into the game, but the RazorSharks won their 34th consecutive game on home court to raise their record to 23-6. The Frost Heaves fall to 28-6, and if Rochester wins their last regular season game at home on Thursday night, and Vermont loses their last two games, Rochester will clinch the Northeast Division by percentage points.

Guard Lazarus Sims led Rochester with 19 points and 11 assists while guard Keith Friel had 18 points and forward Brian Edwards contributed 14 points as the RazorSharks upped their current win streak to eight games. James "Mook" Reaves had 13 points and Eric Coley scored 12 as six players scored in double figures for Rochester. Aaron Cook had 24 points to lead Vermont. Rochester won the three-game series 2-1, with each team winning their home games.

The RazorSharks close out the 2006-2007 regular season at home on Thursday, March 8 against the Strong Island Sound at 7:05 p.m. The ABA playoffs begin the week of March 12-18.

Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams.
