Jam Struggle in Fourth Quarter, Lose 114-105 to D-Fenders

BAKERSFIELD, November 17, 2015 - The Bakersfield Jam (0-3) struggled in the fourth and fell to the Los Angeles D-Fenders (3-0) 114-105 Tuesday night at the Dignity Health Event Center.

Los Angeles took a 26-19 lead after one quarter of play, but Bakersfield would surge in the second as they poured in 41 points and took a 60-55 lead at the break. The Jam would maintain their lead in the third and led by as many as nine points.

Going into the final period the Jam held an 88-80 advantage, before being outscored 34-17 in the fourth by the D-Fenders. Los Angeles powered a 16-6 run to start the quarter and never looked back after taking a 96-94 lead at the 8:35 mark. In the final 12 minutes of action, Bakersfield was held to just 29.4 percent shooting, while Los Angeles shot 78.6 percent.

Earl Clark and C.J. Wilcox had 22 points apiece for the Jam, while Xavier Munford posted 20 points, a game-high nine assists and six rebounds.

Manny Harris paced the D-Fenders with a game-high 31 points to go along with five rebounds and four assists. Vander Blue (24 points) and Los Angeles Lakers assignee Anthony Brown (22 points) also scored in double-figures.

The Bakersfield Jam will next travel to Idaho for a match against the Stampede on Saturday, November 21 at 6:00 p.m. PT.
