BAKERSFIELD, March 13, 2013 - The Bakersfield Jam (27-12) blew a double-digit lead in the fourth quarter but was able to hold on and defeat the Canton Charge (24-16) at the Canton Memorial Civic Center.

Bakersfield opened the game up on a 16-2 run but their lead quickly vanished as Canton stepped up their play on both ends of the floor and sliced the Jam's 14 point lead to one to finish the first quarter (25-24). The second period remained closed and Bakersfield went into the break with a 52-50 advantage. After entering the fourth quarter with an 82-71 lead, the Jam struggled to make some shots and allowed the Charge back in the game. With the game tied at 101 and only 43 seconds remaining in the game, Jerel McNeal converted a huge three-point play that helped the Jam earn a road victory.

McNeal led the Jam with 29 points while Damion James posted a double-double of 21 points and 14 rebounds. Quincy Acy had 14 points and nine rebounds while Adam Koch contributed 12 points and five rebounds for the Jam.

Canton was paced by Kyle Gibson who scored 29 points and dished out six assists. Kevin Jones (Cleveland Cavaliers assignee) had a double-double of 27 points and 11 rebounds while Michael Eric tallied 12 points off the bench for the Charge.

Bakersfield travels back home to play a two-game home series against the Reno Bighorns on Friday and Saturday. Both games scheduled to tip-off at 7 p.m. PST.
