Jam enjoy third straigt home victory

LONG BEACH, Calif. (Dec. 5, 2004) – The Long Beach Jam went on a major run in the fourth quarter to secure a 137-127 victory over the Las Vegas Rattlers in American Basketball Association (ABA) action.  

Ramel Curry scored 12 of his game-high 36 points in the fourth quarter to ensure the Jam's record against the Rattlers remained unblemished at 7-0. The Jam's Nick Sheppard contributed eight of his 19 rebounds in the decisive fourth quarter.  

After surrendering the lead briefly, the Jam took a 66-65 advantage into the half. The game would go back and forth in the third quarter before Long Beach pulled ahead by 100-97. It didn't take long for the Jam to get the lead up to double digits and cruise to the win.  

The Jam's Lenny Cooke added 23 points and 11 rebounds in the win.  For the Rattlers, Lou Kelly netted 20 points and Delron Johnson scored 31 points and had 11 boards.  

Former St. John's standout Felipe Lopez sat out today's game with a slightly sprained right ankle. The Jam's star guard/forward is expected to play on Wednesday.  

The Jam visit the L.A. Stars on Wednesday, Dec. 8 before returning home to face the Portland Reign, Friday, Dec. 10 in a 7:30 p.m. contest.
