AUSTIN, TEXAS, April 12, 2015 - The Bakersfield Jam saw their playoff run come to an end Sunday afternoon at Cedar Park Center, falling to the Austin Spurs 90-88.
Despite starting the game shooting 60.0 percent from the field and holding Austin to 37.5 percent, the Jam finished the opening frame down 30-23. The Spurs extended their lead to as many as 15 points in the second quarter and went into the break with a 49-41 advantage.
In the third period, Bakersfield fought back to tie the game at 59 with 3:03 remaining. Austin would answer back with an 11-4 run to close out the quarter and entered the final frame with a 70-63 lead. The fourth quarter went back-and-forth, making it an exciting finish in a win or go home match. After the Jam knotted up the game at 76 at the 7:16 mark, the Spurs went on a 12-3 run and grabbed at 88-79 lead with less than three minutes left in regulation. Bakersfield didn't go quietly, as they stormed to a quick 9-2 run to make it a one possession game (90-88) with 08.9 seconds left on the clock. Despite a valiant effort to finish the game, the Jam's final shot was blocked as time expired. Mac Koshwal paced Bakersfield with 24 points, 10 rebounds and four steals. Renaldo Major posted 17 points and six rebounds, while Xavier Munford finished with 13 points and seven rebounds. Casey Prather added 11 points and three steals.
The Spurs were led by Jonathan Simmons (28 points) and Erik Murphy (26 points, 18 rebounds, 3 blocks). Orlando Johnson tallied 15 points.
With the loss, the Jam season came to an end. Bakersfield finished the regular season with a 34-16 record to advance to the playoffs as the #3 seed in the Western Conference. The Jam saw three players receive NBA Call-Ups this season: Elijah Millsap (Utah Jazz), Earl Barron (Phoenix Suns) and Jerel McNeal (Phoenix Suns).

The Bakersfield Jam is an NBA Development League team in Bakersfield, California owned by Bakersfield Professional Sports, LLC, a local ownership group led by Stan Ellis and David Higdon. Now in its ninth season, 2014-15 marks the first season of a single-affiliation with the Phoenix Suns, with which the team has worked since 2011.
