Jake Richard Commits to the University of Connecticut

MUSKEGON, Mich. - The Muskegon Lumberjacks have announced that forward Jake Richard has committed to the University of Connecticut.

Richard, the 6-foot-1, 171-pound forward has appeared in 36 games with the Lumberjacks this season, totaling 10 goals and 12 assists for 22 points and a +7 rating. Known for his offensive prowess, the Jacksonville, Fla., native skated for the Florida Alliance 16U team where he amassed 74 points from 45 goals and 29 assists.

"I'm extremely excited to announce my commitment to the University of Connecticut," said Richard. "I'd like to thank my coaches, teammates, and family members and I felt UConn was the best fit."

"I cannot wait to get to UConn and be a part of the Huskies!"

Richard becomes the first Lumberjack on the team to commit to the University of Connecticut this season and joins former Lumberjacks Artem Shlaine and Jachym Kondelik as UConn Huskies.
