Jaguars to conduct clinics

June 11, 2004 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
New Jersey SkyCats News Release

The expansion New Jersey Jaguars of the American Basketball Association will be conducting two basketball clinics in conjunction with the Gloria Wise Boys and Girls Club's 1st annual Youth Conference, to be held on Saturday, June 12 at the Richard R. Green Middle School 113 (3710 Barnes Ave) in the Bronx, NY.

Up to 1500 attendees, ages 13 - 21, are expected to take part in computer, drug & alcohol awareness, AIDS awareness, dance, chess, and other various workshops. In addition, participants will be entertained by several different youth performances.

The basketball clinics, at 10:00 AM and 1:00 PM, are part of the mentoring program the Jaguars are developing as a way to work with children in the NJ/NY metropolitan area.

"The New Jersey Jaguars are proud to be involved with the Gloria Wise Boys & Girls Club to help enhance the lives of children," stated Owner/President Ron Eford. "One of our stated goals off the court is to build a strong presence in the community, actively seeking to have a positive impact in the lives of young children. This clinic is an example of that commitment, and we have other events coming up which will continue to build upon these foundation core values."

The New Jersey Jaguars will begin their inaugural season in November at the Bill Bradley Center on the campus of Ramapo College in Mahwah, NJ. For information about the New Jersey Jaguars, go to their website at www.JerseyJaguars.com, or send an email to info@jerseyjaguars.com.

Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams.
