READING, Pa. - Justin Jackson had three hits and drove home a run for the Fisher Cats on Monday night, but the Reading Phillies pounded out five runs against big leaguer Brett Cecil to beat the Fisher Cats, 5-2. The loss is the second straight for the Fisher Cats, leaving them at 2-2 on their season-opening road trip.

Jackson's big night started with the Fisher Cats trailing 1-0 in the top of the second inning. With two outs, Ryan Goins drew a walk before Jackson nearly knocked down the center field with a triple. Goins scored to tie the game at 1-1.

An inning later the Fisher Cats re-took the lead thanks to a two-out single from Brad Glenn. With runners at first and second, Glenn knocked home A.J. Jimenez for his third RBI of the season and a 2-1 lead.

From there, the offense belonged to the Phillies. In the bottom of the third, Michael Spidale delivered a two-run single against Cecil to put the Phils on top 3-2. A few innings later, with two outs in the sixth, Tyson Gillies launched a long two-run homer to push the lead to 5-2.

Cecil (L; 0-1) took the loss in his first Double-A start since 2008. He pitched 6.2 innings, but allowed five runs on 11 hits, striking out seven without issuing a walk.

The series now continues with the middle game on Tuesday night at FirstEnergy Stadium. RHP Drew Hutchison (1-0, 3.60) draws the start against Reading RHP Jonathan Pettibone (0-0, 1.50).
