MUSKEGON, MI.---Riding the rising rapids of their lofty first place perch, the Muskegon Lumberjacks of the International Hockey League are preparing to make a strong fashion statement for their next three home games at Walker Arena.
As part of the IHL's league-wide annual "Reverse Jersey" month for December 2008, the Lumberjacks will be introducing all-new, brand-new "Vegas" Gold jerseys which they will wear for their next three home appearances; this Friday night, December 12th against the defending league champions, the Fort Wayne Komets, Saturday, December 13th against the Flint Generals and Friday, December 19th, an encore engagement with Fort Wayne. All three contests are set for a 7:00 pm opening face-off.
Immediately following the third game of December 19th, these special "Vegas" Gold jerseys will be auctioned with a portion of the proceeds to be donated to the Baird Family Fund in honor of Jason Baird. Signed to a contract by the Lumberjacks for the current 2008-09 IHL season, Jason was severely burned in a landscaping accident last summer on July 17, 2008.
The auction of these special Lumberjacks jerseys will represent the very first opportunity for the Lakeshore commun-ity to obtain an official game worn jersey since the advent of the second coming of the new IHL Lumberjacks.
Fans and fashion police alike can get their first look at the 'Jacks in gold when the league-leaders hit the first place runway for a pair of crucial home clashes coming up this weekend.
Games #3 and #4 of their extended 5-game home stand are on the docket for this Friday night, December 12th against long-time foe Fort Wayne and Saturday night, December 13th when Flint comes calling.
Plenty of excellent, choice seats are available for both of the Lumberjacks home games coming up this weekend. Tickets are available at the Walker Arena Box Office, all Ticketmaster locations or by phone (231) 726-2400. VISA /MASTERCARD accepted.
Every 'Jacks home game is recognized as "YOUTH NIGHT" as all area youth 17 and under get their seats for only $5.
Also, in December, the Lumberjacks present "4 for 44" month. Fans get 4-game tickets and a $20 concessions voucher for that specific game from the Lumberjacks organization.
