Adirondack Lumberjacks News Release
Glens Falls, NY- The Adirondack Lumberjacks have signed LHP Kris Keelty the Northern League club announced today. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The rookie from Chester, VT will be active for Saturday Night's game against the Brockton Rox. Keelty, who stands at 6'0 and weighs 165 pounds, attended Colby College in Waterville, ME. Kris graduated from Colby in 1999 with Bachelor of Arts in Government. This will be Kris' first year in professional baseball.
Keelty originally attended the Lumberjacks open tryout last season, but was released after making the first cut. Kris returned this year and impressed both Lumberjack Manager Kash Beauchamp and Pitching Coach Kevin Pincavitch.
"Kris will add depth to our bullpen and be used especially to get left-handed hitters out in clutch situations," stated Jacks Manager Kash Beauchamp. To make room for Keelty on the roster, the Lumberjacks released outfielder Mike Oliva. Oliva had hit .200 in 10 at bats for the Jacks thus far this year.
The Lumberjacks have rescheduled their Second Annual Boy Scout Campout Night for Saturday, June 22 against the Brockton Rox. Poor camping conditions and poor conditions for the audio/visual equipment were to blame for the rescheduling. Game time on June 22 is 7 PM. Tickets for this and all remaining home games are available by calling the Lumberjacks Ticket Office at (518) 743-9618.
