Bangor, ME- The Bangor Lumberjacks of the Northeast League announced the signing of RHP Brandon Bowe. Bowe last pitched in 2002 for the Portland Seadogs. Pitching primarily out of the bullpen Bowe made 45 appearances compiling a 3.72 ERA, striking out 53 and walking only 23 in 75 innings pitched.
The Stockton, California native was a 30th round selection of the Florida Marlins in the 1999 draft after graduating from LSU.
"We are extremely excited to have signed Brandon. Finding a job on our pitching staff is going to be extremely competitive in spring training. If Brandon pitches the way he is capable of I would like to see him used as our closer," states Jacks General Manager, Curt Jacey.
Spring training will begin May 9, 2003 and will run until; the team departs on May 21, 2003 for their opening game at Allentown on May 22, 2003 before returning to Bangor for the home opener on Friday, May 30 at 7 PM against the New Jersey Jackals at Mahaney Diamond.
