
Black Bears Sign Experienced Infielders

PITTSFIELD- The Berkshire Black Bears announced on Monday the signing of infielders Shane Hopper and Brady Williams. Hopper was a prospect for the San Diego Padres for three years where he twice reached the Triple-A level. He had his best season in 2000, batting .302 with 11 HRs and 58 RBIs. A 1999 draft pick of the Boston Red Sox, Brady Williams has also spent time with the Minnesota Twins' Double-A affiliate in New Britain. His father, current Houston Astros manager Jimmy Williams, has previously managed the Toronto Blue Jays and Boston Red Sox.
The Berkshire Black Bears begin their second season at Wahconah Park on June 2 against the Quebec Les Capitales.
