
Jacks Get Pre-Season Win

Glens Falls, NY- The Adirondack Lumberjacks of the Northern League got their first pre-season win of the spring by defeating the International Baseball Academy 13-0 Friday at East Field.
The Jacks got solid pitching from starter Mike Zipser, who went four shutout innings while striking out five and giving up only one hit. Lefty rookie Danny Miller was also strong, fanning four in two innings.
Ten different Lumberjacks recorded RBI's in the win, with Matt Tindell and Hiroshi Yameuchi collecting two apiece. Yameuchi was a former member of the IBA team, and had been with them until yesterday when he arrived in Glens Falls. The speedster is expected to see time in the outfield.
The Lumberjacks host the International Baseball Academy again on Saturday and Sunday, May 18 and 19, at 2 PM at East Field. The club opens its 2002 campaign against the Albany-Colonie Diamond Dogs, Friday, May 24 at 6 PM at East Field.
