Jacks Complete First Trade of Season

Glens Falls, NY- The Adirondack Lumberjacks have completed their first trade of the 2002 season the Northern League club announced today. The deal sends lefty reliever Dallas Mahan to the Berkshire Black Bears in exchange for the Bears 2nd and 3rd round draft picks in the 2003 Northern League tryout camp.

The deal was announced following the final game of a four game series between the Lumberjacks and the Black Bears, a 5-4 Lumberjack victory.

Mahan had a 1-0 record with a 3.86 ERA in 9 games for the Jacks. Last season, as a member of the San Angelo (TX) Colts of the Central League, Mahan went 10-6 with a 5.05 ERA.

In a separate move, the Lumberjacks claimed INF Jay Hood off waivers from the St. Paul (MN) Saints. In 7 games, Hood has hit .100 with 5 RBI's.
