JackHammers Blow Out T-Bones 11-3

KANSAS CITY, KS - The JackHammers responded with 11 runs and 13 hits to even up their three game set with Kansas City, blowing out the T-Bones 11-3 Saturday night at CommunityAmerica Ballpark.

Bear Bay (2-2) set the tone on the bump, scattering three runs (two earned) over seven innings, striking out a season high six hitters.

The JackHammers' (9-7) offense did the rest, scoring 11 runs against five different T-Bone pitchers. Freddie Thon gave Joliet the lead for good in the third, breaking a 1-1 tie with a bases loaded double to put the JackHammers up 4-1.

The offense added two more in the fourth and fifth innings, getting sacrifice flies from Jorge Rodriguez and Roberto Mena in the fourth. Ryan Basham launched his second home run, a two run blast in the fifth to put the JackHammers up 8-3.

Kansas City (10-5) got two solo home runs from Jim Fasano in the second and fourth innings. Keanon Simon knocked home the T-Bones final run in the fifth with a single.

Cody McAllister (1-1) lasted only three innings, surrendering six runs (five earned) on six hits with two walks and two strikeouts.

Thon knocked home a game high three runs with Basham and Kevin Rios driving in two apiece. Basham, Jonathan Wyatt and Jorge Rodriguez each scored two runs in the blowout.

The rubber matchup between the two teams will take place tomorrow at 5:05 p.m. Devin Anderson (0-0) and Brett Davis (0-1) is the starting pitching matchup. The pre-game show kicks off coverage at 4:55 p.m. on the JackHammers Radio Network.
