
JackHammers Announce Operation Miracle Drop

JOLIET-The Joliet JackHammers will hold the 1st-ever Operation Miracle Drop on Sunday, August 30 when the club takes on the Kansas City T-Bones at 5:05 p.m. Packages available for purchase include tickets to that evening's game as well as special Jammer Ping Pong Balls. The ping-pong balls will be placed in a helicopter to use during a special ping-pong drop by the JackHammers official mascot-Jammer after the game in the Miracle League Field beyond the center field wall. The closest ball to the pin wins half the pot. All proceeds benefit the Miracle League of Joliet, which is located inside Silver Cross Field.
"We're happy that the JackHammers have chosen to do this event," said Nick Ferro, vice president of the Miracle League of Joliet. "The proceeds will to go to the funding of the league and construction of league fields. We're excited to have 140 kids signed up to play in our league this fall."
The JackHammers are selling the balls in a variety of ways. $10.00 gets fans 2 box seats to the game and 2 Jammer Balls. $20.00 allows folks to pick up 5 box seats and 5 Jammer Balls. Fans can also purchase Jammer balls individually for $3.00. The JackHammers will be selling individual balls on the concourse at their remaining home games as well as in the community. The Miracle League of Joliet allows physically and mentally challenged children the chance to play baseball on a special rubberized field. Relying solely upon volunteers, the Miracle League of Joliet holds fall and spring leagues. It is the first Miracle League Field to be located inside a professional baseball stadium.
The JackHammers are currently home through Wednesday, August 19. On Saturday, August 15 the JackHammers present Rally the King of Bling. Come out to the ballpark to see some of his crazy antics. The JackHammers are also holding the Kiwanis Peanut Giveaway, passing out bags of peanuts to fans as they leave the game.
