'Jackets win Second Straight over Lexington

Lexington, KY - The GreenJackets (5-5) won their second straight game over the Legends (2-8) with a 5-3 victory on Saturday night. Nick Noonan drove in two runs and Madison Bumgarner recorded his first professional win working five innings.

Bumgarner (1-1) allowed two runs on four hit, no walks and struck out four in his second professional start.

Daniel Otero recorded his first save of the season recording the final two outs of the game.

Augusta gave the lefty all the offense he needed with three runs in the first inning and one more in the second for a 4-0 lead.

In the first inning Ramon Corona singled then Noonan followed with an RBI triple for a 1-0 lead. Noonan then scored from third when Baker reached on a fielding error from first baseman Eric Taylor for a 2-0 advantage. Angel Villilona capped off the scoring in the inning with a two-out RBI double.

The GreenJackets added a run in the second with Noonan's RBI double and Augusta led 4-0.

Lexington got single runs in the third and fourth innings on RBI ground outs from Matt Cusick and Max Sapp.

Collin Delome pulled Lexington to within one with a solo home run in the sixth inning off Augusta reliever Daryl Maday.

Augusta got an insurance run in the ninth inning on an RBI sac-fly from Ramon Corona scoring James Simmons for a 5-3 lead.

The GreenJackets continue their series with the Legends Sunday afternoon with August sending right-hander T.J. Brewer (0-1, 12.00) to the hill. Lexington counters with lefty Anthony Bello (0-0, 1.80). First pitch is at 2:05 p.m.
