Little Falls, NJ - The New Jersey Jackals completed the three game sweep over Les Capitales de Quebec with a 9-3 win Sunday afternoon at Yogi Berra Stadium. New Jersey swept the homestand and has won eight in a row.
Up 1-0, the Jackals scored three runs in the second inning. Travis Bailey led off with a solo homerun, his 12th of the year and fourth in three games. New Jersey added three in the 6th inning as well to take an 8-0 lead with RBI singles by Jack Lipari, Craig Conway and Billy Rich.
Aaron Myers (7-3) had a great outing on three days rest. He pitched 7 innings, giving up one run, unearned, on three hits. He walked two and struck out four. After giving up a double in the first inning to shortstop Robbi Kison, Myers cruised through the next five innings before giving up two hits in the 7th. Todd Meady made his final appearance, coming on in the 9th inning to record the last two outs. Meady retired after the game.
New Jersey handed Danny Prata (8-2) only his second loss of the season. He went 5.1 innings, giving up eight runs, seven earned, on ten hits with a walk and two strikeouts.
Chas Terni, who came into today's game leading the league in doubles, hit two more to bring his total to 24. 12 out of his past 14 hits have been for doubles.
