Elmira Jackals News Release
The Elmira Jackals, proud member of the United Hockey League, announced today the signing of Alex Andreyev to a one-year contract for the 2004-2005 season. He becomes the seventh player signed for the upcoming season.
Andreyev, a Riga, Latvia native, was selected by the Phoenix Coyotes in the eighth round of the 1997 NHL Draft. He played the last two seasons with Greensboro of the ECHL. In 101 total games Andreyev totaled 301 PIMs, with 1 goal and 8 assists. The 6'4", 235-pound defenseman brings UHL experience to the Jackals. Andreyev played in 115 games for the B.C. Icemen from 1999-2002.
"Alex is a big, strong, gritty defenseman," said Jackals Head Coach Todd Brost. "He plays with a lot of heart and determination. We hated to play against him when he played in Binghamton."
Season tickets are on sale now for the 2004-2005 season. Twenty game packs, ten game packs and Flex Packs go on sale August 2. For more information call the First Arena Box Office at 607-734-7825.
