
Jackals Form Magic Partnership With Route 81 Radio

Elmira, NY - The Elmira Jackals announced today that they have formed a partnership with Route 81 Radio to host the Jackals Hockey Radio Broadcasts on Magic 92.7 & 97.7 FM for the entire 2006-2007 season. The Jackals also announced the new downtown Elmira host of The Coach's Show, along with its new day and time.
The Jackals have a new radio home going into the 2006-2007 hockey season, their seventh year of operation, and they are going back to the FM dial. Magic 92.7 & 97.7 FM, part of Route 81 Radio, will be broadcasting all 76 regular season Jackals games as they pursue the coveted Colonial Cup, received as the playoff champions of the United Hockey League. Voice of the Jackals Owen Newkirk, the 2005-2006 UHL Broadcaster of the Year, returns for his fourth season as the radio broadcaster for Jackals hockey.
"This is going to be a great partnership," said Route 81 Radio General Manager Paul Lyle. "Our goal is to give the listener as great a product as the Jackals present on the ice."
The Jackals Coach's Show will be broadcast LIVE for the Pioneer Sports Bar & Grill
every Monday night at 6 pm on WENY 1230 AM & 1450 AM, also part of the Route 81
family. For those fans who live outside of the Twin Tiers, or just prefer
cyberspace, Route 81 Radio will stream all games and coach's shows over the
Internet, the link will be available through the Jackals website:

S. Nichols. "This will be the first year where you can hear the Jackals hockey
broadcasts from west of Hornell to the outskirts of Binghamton." Newkirk will continue to be the host of the Jackals Coach's Show, which moves from
Tuesdays to Monday Nights this season. The one-hour Live show features one-on-one
interviews with Jackals Head Coach Kris Waltze and several Jackals players each
week. The Pioneer Sports Bar & Grill will be the place to be on Monday nights.
Come for the Jackals Coach's Show at 6 pm, eat dinner, and wrap up the night with
Monday Night Football on the Pioneer's new High Definition LCD TV's or any of their
14 screens. "The Jackals are excited to team up with The Pioneer to host the Jackals Coach's
Show this season," said Nichols. "They are enthusiastic about partnering with the
Jackals and we know they will do a great job hosting the show. I encourage everyone
