Rockford IceHogs News Release

Rockford, Ill.- The Rockford IceHogs are set to kick off its eighth season and the United Hockey League club unveiled its 2006-07 marketing campaign at a press conference on Tuesday at Medicine Man, Inc. in downtown Rockford. The IceHogs introduced this year's marketing campaign "Are You Fan Enuff" in conjunction with Medicine Man, Inc. and Chris Toltzman, the Production Manager at Insight Media.

Medicine Man's Mike Bunjan and Brent Shelton along with Toltzman and the IceHogs staff collaborated once again on this season's efforts on the marketing outline. "Are You Fan Enuff" is designed to be a fan-interactive campaign with IceHogs fans.

"We have a lot of fan integrated promotions throughout the season that will be in line with the "˜Are You Fan Enuff' campaign," said IceHogs President and General Manager Ryan Washatka. "Our fans are the ones who have made the IceHogs what we are today and therefore we value the opportunity to include them in our marketing when possible."

The IceHogs will use the marketing campaign logo and tag line on merchandise and in advertisements throughout the course of the season. The logo was designed by Bunjan and Shelton, who have been instrumental in past IceHogs campaigns. The IceHogs were recognized by the UHL following the 2002-03 season for the club's "Blockbuster Hockey" marketing push.

Local recording artist Rick Nielson from the world-renowned rock band Cheap Trick will also participate in the "Are You Fan Enuff" campaign this season. Nielson will serve as the "voice" of the "Are You Fan Enuff" efforts.

"Rick has been a long standing fan and season ticket holder with the IceHogs," replied Washatka. "It is an honor to have him as the "˜voice' of this season's campaign."

IceHogs fans' first chance to participate in this season's campaign is tonight. The IceHogs will hold a commercial shoot at the Rockford MetroCentre tonight at 6:30 p.m. The Hogs are inviting all fans to the commercial shoot that will be directed by Toltzman. Fans are encouraged to wear IceHogs apparel and enter the MetroCentre through the security entrance off of Church St. The commercial will focus on real life IceHogs fans and how their love for the game of hockey plays a role in their everyday life.
