New Jersey Jackals News Release

Danny Santiesteban's was 4-5 with a home run...again. Santiesteban was 4-5 with a home run on opening night, and repeated his line in the box score Saturday helping propel the New Jersey Jackals to a 12-5 win over the Kansas City T-Bones at CommunityAmerica Ballpark on Saturday. His home run in the fifth added to the Jackals then-7-3 lead. He's now 8-15 at the plate on the young season.

The Jackals' Carlos Guzman started the scoring in the second with a two-run home run that just made it over the 300-foot short porch in left-field. The Jackals scored in every inning from the second to the seventh, and never trailed in the game.

2011 Jackals reliever Steve Fox (0-2, 2.28 ERA in 2011) made his first professional start. In five innings, he allowed five runs on four hits, struck out five, and walked five. His bullpen finished the job. They combined for four scoreless innings, only allowing three hits.

T-Bones starter Devin Anderson went four innings, allowing four earned runs (seven total) while striking out three.

The Jackals and Kansas City T-Bones wrap up their four-game series tomorrow at 6:05ET. The Jackals send Jon Kibler (3-6, 6.03 ERA in 2011) to the mound, while the T-Bones will try to level the series when they call on Brian Grening (6-4, 3.38 ERA in 2011).
