(Odessa, TX) -- Odessa stopped the Mississippi RiverKings' eleven-game winning streak on Sunday afternoon in Texas with a 3-2 come-from-behind victory. The Jackalopes' win also stopped a 17-game string of non-regulation time results for the front runners in the Northeast Division race, however it also kept the RiverKings from taking over first place in the overall Central Hockey League standings.

Paul Kelly opened the scoring for Odessa with his first goal of the season, a deflection into the net at 13:21. However, Stephen Margeson scored on the power play with 36 seconds left in the first period to tie the game at 1-1 after twenty minutes of action.

The RiverKings scored the only goal of the second period, when Louis Dumont scored on the power play at 4:36 for a 2-1 Mississippi lead, which became the second intermission goal.

The Jackalopes rallied in the third period with two power play goals, as Sebastien Thinel tied the game 48 seconds into the frame, followed by the eventual game-winner from Mike Ramsay nearly eight minutes into the period. Odessa then held on for the victory, stopping the RiverKings' winning streak at eleven.

Shots were even for the contest at 26-each. Both teams scored two power play goals, with Mississippi getting 12 chances and Odessa receiving nine power play opportunities.

Despite the outcome, Mississippi remains on top of the Northeast Division standings, heading into a three game home stand against the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs. Games on Friday, Saturday and the following Tuesday will all be at the DeSoto Civic Center in Southaven, starting at 7:05 PM each night.

The RiverKings next play the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs at home March 13th and 14th at 7:05 PM each night in the DeSoto Civic Center. The Mudbugs and RiverKings also meet at the DCC on March 17th, also at 7:05 PM.
