Jackalopes Sign Spalding, Joly to IR

(Odessa, TX) - The Odessa Jackalopes announced today that they've signed Robby Spalding for the 2008-2009 Central Hockey League season to fill a roster vacancy after defenseman Mario Joly was placed on the 30-day Injured Reserve list with an undisclosed injury.

Spalding is in his first year of pro hockey after playing last season with the Sioux City Musketeers of the USHL. In 22 games he recorded three assists and 22 penalty minutes. The Arden Hills, Minnesota native will make his playing debut Tuesday night against the Arizona Sundogs.

In 16 games this season Mario Joly has recorded 11 points with a goal and 10 assists. He leads the Jackalopes with 88 penalty minutes this year.

The Odessa Jackalopes are the Central Hockey League affiliate for the NHL's New York Islanders and the AHL's Bridgeport Sound Tigers. The team is currently in its 12th season. Season tickets, mini-plans, and single game tickets are available by calling (432) 552-PUCK or visiting jackalopes.org
