Travis Clayton Milestone Voted Performance Of The Week

The Central Hockey League (CHL) announced today that Bossier-Shreveport's Travis Clayton has been voted the winner of the CHL Performance of the Week for Week Six after setting the CHL record for games played by playing in his 709th career CHL game. The historic game came in Rocky Mountain on November 21st, 2008.

The record night for the Paradise Hill, Saskatchewan native earned 51% of the vote garnering 704 of the 1394 votes cast. Oklahoma City's five power play goals in their 7-3 win over Texas on November 23rd was a distant second receiving 252 votes.

Clayton had played each of his previous 11 seasons with the Wichita Thunder before signing with Bossier-Shreveport during the off-season. He has totaled six goals and eight assists in 17 games with the Mudbugs.

The nominees for the CHL Performance of the Week for week seven of the season (Nov. 24-30) are as follows:

-Mississippi's three-goal third period comeback in win at Laredo on November 25th

-Texas' David Cacciola making 41 saves in 2-1 shootout win versus Bossier-Shreveport on November 26th

-Oklahoma City's Cam Doull's two-goal night in 2-1 win at Texas on November 28th

-Rocky Mountain's Aaron Davis scoring a hat trick in Rage's 5-4 win at Amarillo on November 28th

-Rapid City's Miguel Beaudry making 41 saves in Rush's home opener shutout win versus Colorado on November 29th

Fans can vote for the winner through Monday, December 8th with the winner being announced on Tuesday, December 9th.

CHL's Hat Tricks for Kids

The CHL and Infinity Pro Sports have partnered for the 2008-09 season for a new program called Hat Tricks for Kids. Infinity Pro Sports will donate $25.00 for every hat trick scored throughout the CHL regular season. Fans are also able to donate money to the program that will donate all proceeds to The Hoffen Foundation (www.hoffenfoundation.org).
