Jack Downing Loaned to Elmira

ELMIRA, N.Y. - April 8, 2013 - The Elmira Jackals announced today that forward Jack Downing has been loaned to the club by its American Hockey League affiliate, the Binghamton Senators.

Downing, a 6-3, 210 pound wing, returns to Elmira from Binghamton where he logged four points (3G, 1A) in 17 games. He was called up from Elmira on January 12, 2013 following the end of the National Hockey League lockout and stayed with the B-Sens for the next three months.

In his second pro season out of the University of Vermont, Downing registered 28 points (14G, 14A) and a +2 rating in 34 regular season games with the Jackals. At the time of his call up to Binghamton, Downing was fourth on the Jackals in points, and still finished the season 11th best on the club.

As a rookie last season Downing suited up in four Kelly Cup playoff games with the Jackals and potted one assist.
