Previewing the Upcoming Week:

The first two games of Elmira's best-of-seven quarterfinal series against Florida has had a tinge of nastiness to them, and the teams have combined to rack up 106 penalty minutes. On top of the rough stuff, the teams have been scoring goals at a rapid pace and have collectively scored 16 goals in two games. After an 8-2 triumph in Game 2, which featured a six goal outburst in the third period, Elmira leads the Kelly Cup Playoffs with a 4.5 goals per game average. Twelve different skaters have registered at least one point for the Jackals, so far, in the series.
After splitting the first two games at Germain Arena, the Jackals return home for Games 3, 4, and 5 at First Arena this Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday. Florida did not visit Elmira during the regular season, and last played at First Arena on April 14 2012 in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference semifinal series. Florida won that game 5-0 en route to a 4-1 series victory over the Jackals. Elmira sports a 3-4 home playoff record against Florida in their ECHL history.
During the regular season the Jackals were 5-1-0 at home against teams from the South Division. Elmira outscored its Southern visitors by a combined 21-13 mark at First Arena. Florida, meanwhile, went 8-2-1 on the road against teams from the Atlantic and North Divisions.

Caporusso has produced 15 points (8G, 7A) over that streak. Dating back to December 1, 2012, Caporusso earned at least one point in 29 of the Jackals' 33 games in which he has played including regular season and playoffs.
* The Jackals' eight goals in Saturday's Game 2 win in Florida were the most they have ever scored in a Kelly Cup playoff game. The most goals Elmira has scored in any game in its ECHL era was 11 on November 14, 2009 at Gwinnett.
* With his 31-save performance on Saturday night, Ian Keserich earned his first Kelly Cup playoff win. It was his first post-season appearance since April 23, 2011 for the Central Hockey League's Tulsa Oilers against Bossier-Shreveport. His only other playoff victory came off of 44 saves in a 3-2 win over Bossier-Shreveport on April 19, 2011.
* Kyle Bushee rates second among ECHL defensemen with three points (1G, 2A) during the Kelly Cup Playoffs. His goal in Game 1 was the second playoff goal of his career, and his two assists are one away from tying his career best in a single playoffs. His most productive run in the playoffs was four points (1G, 3A) in 17 games with the Wheeling Nailers in 2011 when they finished as the Eastern Conference runner up to Kalamazoo.
