Rockford Lightning News Release
Rockford, IL- It's been quite a successful year for the Rockford Jefferson boys basketball team. The J-Hawks made their first ever trip to the Illinois Class AA boys state basketball tournament in Peoria on March 18 and 19, and finished fourth. That's the highest finish by any Rockford team since the Guilford Vikings finished second in 1993.
The Rockford Lightning are recognizing the J-Hawks for their accomplishments, and for their outstanding season. During halftime of the CBA Finals game on March 31 against Sioux Falls, there will be a halftime ceremony honoring these young men for their successful season.
"Jefferson has had a very successful season, and the Rockford Lightning would like to show their appreciation by bringing the team out to the game and recognizing them at halftime," says Lightning General Manager Michael Neville.
Join the Rockford Lightning as they face off against the Sioux Falls Skyforce in Game 3 of the CBA Finals on Thursday, March 31. The Lightning and Skyforce faced off four times in the regular season, each team winning the games on their home floor.
