Hamilton Tiger-Cats News Release
Hamilton, Ontario - Ivor Wynne Stadium will be packed on June 22 when the Hamilton Tiger-Cats take on the Montreal Alouettes, as season seat holders have reserved all available tickets for the team's final pre-season game.
Last month, the Ticats offered season seat holders the opportunity to secure up to 10 complimentary tickets for friends, colleagues and family members to experience 'Season Seat Holder Appreciation Day.'
"We're always looking to provide unique benefits for our most dedicated fans, our season seat holders, and we're thrilled with the way they have responded to this promotion. We look forward to a fun night for families and friends at Ivor Wynne Stadium on June 22," said President Scott Mitchell.
The fun on gameday begins in the brand new TigerTown Fanzone on Brian Timmis Field. The Fanzone opens two hours prior to every game and features interactive inflatables, alumni autograph areas, a cheerleader photo booth, music, food and tons of pre-game entertainment for the entire family. Inside the stadium, veteran broadcaster Mike Nabuurs will make his debut as the new Ivor Wynne Stadium public address announcer.
Fans will also feel a new level of interaction with Ticats players as well. During warm-ups, players will throw mini-footballs to fans in the stands. As halftime begins, a player will be interviewed live on the ArcelorMittal TigerVision scoreboard to provide spectators with an insider's perspective about the action on the field.
Fans will notice a cleaner atmosphere inside the stadium as well, as the Ticats and City of Hamilton will implement improved recycling initiatives this season. In keeping with City by-laws, the team has also limited smoking to designated areas near the corner of Balsam Avenue & Beechwood and under sections 25 and 26.
"In an effort to enhance and protect the quality of life of individuals frequenting Ivor WynneStadium, the City of Hamilton Recreation Division will be limiting smoking to designated areas. We will also be making a concentrated effort to recycle as we move towards our goal of zero waste. We believe that recycling works, it just makes sense!" said Mike Hammond, Stadium Supervisor.
There are an extremely limited amount of tickets remaining for June 22. As internal holds are released in the days leading up to the game, fans can purchase tickets by contacting the Ticats Sales and Service Team at 905-547-CATS (2287) or visiting Ticats.ca.
