NEW YORK CITY - September 4, 2011 - Two-time Lobsters marquee player John Isner advanced to the fourth round of the U.S. Open Sunday night with a 7-6 (11-9), 6-4, 6-4 win over Alex Bogomolov Jr.
The 28th-seeded Isner next takes on No. 12 Gilles Simon of France.
If Isner defeats Simon, it would mark the first time the University of Georgia product has reached the U.S. open quarterfinals since 2009, where he dropped a 6-4, 4-6, 4-6, 4-6 decision to Fenando Verdasco of Spain.
This marks the seventh time Isner has made the Round of 32 in a Grand Slam event.
