Isles Acquire Flames Prospect Cole Huckins

On Monday afternoon, General Manager Jim Hulton announced a trade with the Sherbrooke Phoenix that included the acquisition of 20-year-old forward Cole Huckins.

Huckins, a Calgary Flames prospect, spent last season with the Sherbrooke Phoenix where he recorded a career-high 28 goals and 30 assists. He added 9 points in the Phoenix's run to the QMJHL semi-finals.

"I'm super excited to be joining the Islanders," commented Huckins. "I'm feeling really excited to be coming back to the Maritimes and to a great organization with some really passionate fans."

Standing at 6'4 ‚¬Â³, Huckins boasts a resume of 202 career QMJHL games across seasons with Acadie-Bathurst Titan and Sherbrooke Phoenix. He was selected 77th overall in the 2021 NHL Entry Draft by the Calgary Flames.

"By adding Cole, he brings leadership, size, and goal-scoring ability to our young line up" commented Hulton. "He had a fantastic year offensively on a deep Sherbrooke team and ge's going to come into our room and continue to prove that he deserves a professional contract."
