Islanders Set New Year's Goals

January 8, 2003 - arenafootball2 (af2) - Hawaiian Islanders News Release

The New Year always brings about resolutions, new goals and dreams. I've set mine. And the Hawaiian Islanders have set our goals and dreams for 2003 at all levels. On the field under the direction of our field general, Cal Lee, we aspire to bring home the division crown, which will earn us home field advantage in the playoffs. In the arena, our front office staff has set goals that include making sure that 100 percent of our fans feel like they are IN the game! We are striving to create a game experience unlike any other that the sports fans of Hawaii have enjoyed. Arena football is fast, it's explosive, it's up close, and it’s fan and family oriented.

Our home opener is only two months away! We can't wait and neither should you! Get IN the game with the Hawaiian Islanders. It's an experience we promise you won't forget. Chris Dey, General Manager

“YOU’RE IN THE GAME!

**HAWAIIAN ISLANDERS STAFF

The Hawaiian Islanders would like to welcome aboard the newest addition to our staff team, Thomas Yoshida, Director of Communications. Thomas Yoshida is considered one of the top sports and media relations experts in Hawaii. Following his graduation from the University of Hawaii at Manoa in Journalism, Thomas worked for the Hawaii Islanders Baseball Club as the Director of Media Relations. In 1987, Thomas moved to the University of Hawaii Sports Information Office where he was the Assistant/Associate Director of all men's sports. Over the next 10 years, Thomas worked as the Director of Media Relations for the Hawaii High School Athletic Association and as the Media Relations Coordinator for the Los Angeles Lakers Basketball team during preseason exhibitions in Hawaii. In addition to media relations experience, Thomas worked for the Vice President for University Relations as well as the UH Foundation. Most recently, Thomas was the Director of Sports Information at Hawaii Sports Network.

Hawaiian Islanders’ General Manager Chris Dey says, "Thomas has established himself as a leader in Hawaii's sports information industry over the past decade through his consistency, accuracy and reliability for the sport media at all levels. He is the consummate professional and we are proud to get him 'in the game' and on the team with the Hawaiian Islanders."

For those of you who are unfamiliar with the Hawaiian Islanders office staff, we would like for you to get to know who they are and what they do.
