
Islanders Announce Preseason Game In Barrie

Barrie, ON (April 3, 2012) - The New York Islanders will play one of their pre-season home games in Barrie, Ontario at the Barrie Molson Centre against the Ottawa Senators on Sunday, Sept. 30, 2012 @ 5pm.
"The New York Islanders are excited about the opportunity to host a game in Barrie, one of Canada's true hockey communities," New York Islanders General Manager Garth Snow said. "With several of our players such as John Tavares, Josh Bailey and Matt Martin having been a part of the OHL, we know how passionate fans are about hockey."
"The Barrie Molson Centre is recognized as one of the top facilities in the Ontario Hockey League and we're looking forward to being able to play a game there," said Senators general manager Bryan Murray. "We're excited to bring our team to a different part of the province and meet some of our fans in what is a vibrant hockey community".
The Barrie Colts, Canadian Tire, Steel Shield Technologies and Tackla QuikBlade have come together to help bring the exhibition game to Barrie and to provide the local community with greater access to national level hockey.
The Barrie Colts season ticket holders will have the first opportunity to purchase tickets April 11th 2012. General public on-sale will commence April 18th 2012. Ticket prices range from $89. to $120. (Plus taxes and service charges). Further ticket information to be announced.
