
IronPigs Reveal Preliminary Promo Schedule

(Allentown, Pa.) - Bobbleheads of some of the most popular players in IronPigs history, including Erik Kratz, Kevin Frandsen and Tyler Cloyd along with re-imagined giveaways such as a FeRROUS & FeFe Salt & Pepper Shaker Set, a "Pigs to the Bigs" T-Shirt and a Barbie Q. Mini Bobblehead, highlight the IronPigs preliminary promotion schedule unveiled today for the 2013 season. Single-game tickets for the 2013 season presented by Capital BlueCross as well as the Gildan Triple-A National Championship Game are available beginning on Saturday, March 2, 2013 during the club's annual National Pig Day celebration at Coca-Cola Park.
The 72-game home schedule also features 18 fireworks shows along with the return of the ever-popular Friday Night Fireworks Series, a ton of unique and never-before-seen giveaways as well as appearances by the world-famous Phillie Phanatic and other trendy entertainment acts. Additionally, the IronPigs will continue to add and announce additional promotions prior to Opening Day.
"This promo schedule truly has something for everyone," remarked IronPigs General Manager Kurt Landes. "Whether it is familiar favorites such as bobbleheads and fireworks or creative, out-of-the-box ideas that are brand-new for the upcoming season, there won't a single game in 2013 that doesn't offer a one-of-a-kind experience for our fans."
The IronPigs embark on their 2013 journey on Thursday, April 4, against the Syracuse Chiefs with a Fleece Blanket giveaway for the first 3,000 adults 18 and older. Opening night also features a bevy of other promotions including Ladies Night specials along with a pre-game Happy Hour from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. with live music and $2 domestic drink specials in the AT&T Plaza along with the popular Red Robin Oasis bar.
The Friday Night Fireworks series kicks off on Friday, April 5, as part of a catalog of 18 fireworks shows scheduled for the 2013 season at Coca-Cola Park. During the week leading up to July 4, Coca-Cola Park will host five fireworks shows in six days, including the Valley's one and only 3-D Fireworks display.
Fans won't want to miss highly-anticipated bobblehead giveaways of Kevin Frandsen (April 9), Tyler Cloyd (May 7), Erik Kratz (May 21) and Ryan Howard (July 8) for the first 3,000 fans 18 and older. The IronPigs will also pay homage to the newest Pork Racer, Barbie Q., with a mini bobblehead keepsake for the first 2,000 youth 17 and under on May 26.
There are many other creative promotions set for next season, including:
- A "Pigs to the Bigs" T-Shirt giveaway on April 7 that includes a list of every former IronPigs player that has received a Big League promotion since the franchise's inception. This item is for the first 3,000 adults 18 and older.
- A one-of-a-kind FeRROUS & FeFe Salt & Pepper Shaker set for the first 3,000 adults 18 and older attending the April 10 game.
- A Margarita Glass giveaway for the first 3,000 adults 18 and older as part of an early Cinco de Mayo celebration on May 4 at Coca-Cola Park.
Other first time giveaways include a John Mayberry Jr. Commemorative Glass (April 20), a Beach Towel (June 13), a Father's Day Bucket Cap (June 16) and a Scoreboard Clock as part of "Turn Back the Clock" Night (July 18).
Time-tested returnees to the giveaway slate include Magnet Schedules (April 6), Caps (May 5, May 20, June 10 and July 10), Rally Towels (May 23), Youth Replica Jerseys (June 30), Acrylic Cups (July 20), Piggy Banks (July 21), Foam Fingers (August 27) and Wall Calendars (August 30).
For those seeking the ultimate in entertainment, Dueling Pianos will accompany post-game fireworks on five occasions this upcoming season (April 5, May 31, June 28, July 19 and August 30) while the world famous Phillie Phanatic will once again entertain with a pair of appearances set for June 15 and August 15 at Coca-Cola Park.
Lastly, Dog Days return with three "Bark in the Park" games on April 7 ("Pig to the Bigs" T-Shirt giveaway), April 21 (Knit Cap giveaway) and May 6.
Coca-Cola Park's featured Weekly Promotions for the 2013 season will be announced in the near future.
Regular starting times remain identical with 2012 as Saturday starting times remain at 6:35 p.m. Monday through Friday games remain predominately scheduled for 7:05 p.m. The only exceptions are for Education Day #1 on April 22 (10:35 a.m.), Education Day #2 on May 9 (10:35 a.m.), Camp Day on July 31 (11:35 a.m.) and Labor Day (1:35 p.m.). Sunday games are scheduled for 1:35 p.m. through June 30 and 5:35 p.m. from July 21 until the end of the regular season.
Single-game tickets for the 2013 season and the Gildan Triple-A National Championship game go on sale during the club's annual National Pig Day festivities at Coca-Cola Park on Saturday, March 2. Single-game tickets can also be purchased at ironpigsbaseball.com or by calling (610) 841-PIGS (7447) beginning on March 2.
