IronPigs Reveal Preliminary 2010 Promotions

(Allentown, Pa.) -- The Lehigh Valley IronPigs have announced their preliminary promotional schedule and weekly specials for the 2010 All-Star season. The 72-game home slate is once again highlighted by 17 fireworks shows, including the Friday Night Fireworks Series; a plethora of one-of-a-kind giveaway and theme nights; and appearances by top-notch live entertainment acts. Further, the IronPigs have added numerous weekly specials, including a Happy Hour Concert Series prior to every Saturday home game that features an early gate opening, live music and concessions specials in the AT&T Plaza. The IronPigs will continue to add and announce additional promotions prior to Opening Day.

"We're the IronPigs -- and no team exhibits more zeal to make their fans squeal," said IronPigs General Manager Kurt Landes. "With this being our All-Star season, we felt an obligation to again provide the best promotional lineup in all of Minor League Baseball... and there is no question that we have surpassed our wildest expectations with this year's full array of giveaways, acts and theme nights."

The IronPigs home opener is tabbed for Wednesday, April 14, and the Opening Day festivities continue all weekend with a 2010 Magnet Schedule giveaway (Thursday, April 15), Friday Night Fireworks (Friday, April 16) and an IronPigs Dog Bowl giveaway (Sunday, April 18) as part of the third annual "Bark in the Park". An additional "Bark in the Park" is scheduled for Monday, Aug. 9, and the promotion coincides with an appearance by the world famous Phillie Phanatic.

A total of 17 post-game fireworks shows are planned, including one for every Friday home game in 2010. The IronPigs will celebrate Independence Day with three fireworks extravaganzas on July 2, July 4 and July 5 and the Independence Day event presented by AT&T will once again be the only 3-D fireworks extravaganza in Eastern Pennsylvania. Another holiday show is slated for Labor Day Eve on Sept. 5.

To commemorate the expected return of IronPigs fan favorite Andy Tracy, the IronPigs will honor the slugger with his own Bobblehead Night on July 26. This keepsake is available for the first 3,000 fans 18 and older. The other bobblehead night in 2010 incorporates Northampton High School graduate and current Phillies catcher Brian Schneider in a Northampton Konkrete Kids uniform and will be given away on Aug. 5 to the first 3,000 fans 18 and older.

Turn back the clock with Decade Theme Nights featuring one-of-a-kind baseball giveaways such as a Tie-Dye Baseball for 60's Night on May 2, a Disco Baseball for 70's Night on May 19 and a Magic 8 Baseball for 80's Night on July 27. A sampling of other exciting theme nights in 2010 include "Go Green" & Earth Awareness Night (April 22), Karate Night (May 3), Dance Nights (May 18 and May 25), Hispanic Heritage Night (June 30), Japanese Heritage Night (Aug. 12), Irish Heritage Night (Aug. 24) and Italian Heritage Night (Aug. 30).

Several first-time unique giveaway items are scheduled for the 2010 season, such as Travel Mugs (May 8), Pink Visors in celebration of Mother's Day on May 9, Allentown Cardinals Throwback Caps (June 9), Flip Flops (June 17), "Fiesta de Pigs" T-shirts for Hispanic Heritage Night (June 30), Independence Day Red, White & Blue Caps (July 1) and Desktop Cap Banks (Aug. 22).

A number of other great keepsakes are intended for the upcoming season, including Youth Caps (May 23), Golf Umbrellas (May 25), IronPigs T-shirts (July 25), Team Card Sets (Aug. 24), 2011 Wall Calendars (Aug. 30) and 2011 Magnet Schedules (Aug. 31).

Coca-Cola Park continues to be a featured destination for those seeking live entertainment and the top traveling acts nationwide. WWE wrestler and commentator Jerry "The King" Lawler - a member of the WWE Hall of Fame -- makes his Coca-Cola Park debut as part of Hero's Night on May 6. The world famous Phillie Phanatic makes a pair of appearances on June 29 and Aug. 9 and REGGY, "The Purple Party Dude," returns to the Valley on June 19.

Starting times remain similar to 2009 with one exception - Saturday starting times have been moved to a 6:35 p.m. Monday through Friday games remain predominately scheduled for 7:05 p.m. The only exceptions are for Education Day #1 on May 4 (10:35 a.m.), Education Day #2 on May 20 (10:35 a.m.) and Camp Day on July 29 (11:05 a.m.). Sunday games are scheduled for 1:35 p.m. through June 20, 7:05 p.m. for July 4 and 5:35 p.m. from July 25 until the end of the regular season.

An extremely limited number of 2010 All-Star ticket packages, consisting of tickets to "Pigapalooza" All-Star Fan Fest (Saturday, July 10 at Coca-Cola Park), the Triple-A Home Run Derby (Monday, July 12) and the Triple-A All-Star Game (Wednesday, July 14), are now on sale to existing and new full-season ticket holders, 36-game holders and 18-game partial plan holders that renew or purchase season tickets and the All-Star Game package.

The Lehigh Valley IronPigs are dedicated to providing family-friendly entertainment and are the only Minor League team to offer bubbles to fans entering the AT&T Plaza and balloons for all children exiting Coca-Cola Park.
