Lehigh Valley IronPigs News Release

Down to their final three games of the regular season, the IronPigs (74-67) will now play Game One of a three-game series against the last-place Buffalo Bisons (66-75) at Coca-Cola Park... With a 5-2 loss to Syracuse last night, the Pigs have now dropped back-to-back games and remain 3.0 games behind Pawtucket in the Wild Card race. The Pigs have gone just 23-31 since July 6 -- going from a season-high 3.0 games up to a season-high 9.0 games back in the North... The Bisons -- the Mets' top affiliate -- won 8-5 last night to sweep a two-game series in Rochester. Still, the Bisons have gone just 9-16 in their last 25 contests. In fact, once 49-45, they've gone just 17-30 since July 14.

RHP Jonathan Pettibone (4-0, 1.70) will start for LHV against RHP Zack Wheeler (1-2, 3.54).

Tonight's game features an appearance by the Phillies Phanatic... First-Pitch is at 6:35 p.m.

STILL ALIVE:

Scranton/WB snapped Pawtucket's 6-game winning streak last night, 4-3, at McCoy Stadium -- so the Pigs remain 3.0 GB in the Wild Card race with 3 games to go in the regular season. The Pigs will still make the playoffs if they win their final 3 G and the Paw Sox lose their final 3 G... Meanwhile, SWB -- which clinched the North Division title Thursday -- has gone 20-6 in its last 26 affairs. Since the All-Star Break (July 12), the Yanks boast a 34-15 record -- going from third and 4.0 GB to first and 6.0 GA.
