Down to their final nine games of the regular season, the IronPigs (72-63) play Game One of a three-game, home series -- and a five-game, "home-and-home" series -- against the first-place Scranton/WB Yankees (79-56) at Coca-Cola Park... With an 8-1 win over the Red Wings last night, the Pigs took the three-game series, 2-1, and took over the Wild Card lead by 0.5-games over Pawtucket... The Pigs are 6-4 in their last 10 contests, but remain just 20-27 since July 6 -- going from a season-high 3.0-games up to a season-high 7.0-games back in the North... Scranton/WB -- the Yankees' top affiliate -- has won a season-high, nine consecutive games and has gone 16-4 in its last 20 affairs. In fact, since the All-Star Break (July 12), the Yanks boast a 30-13 record -- going from third and 4.0 GB to first and 7.0 GA (an 11-game swing in just 44 days).

LHP Mario Hollands (0-1, 12.00) will start for LHV against RHP Ramon Ortiz (12-5, 3.13).

First-Pitch is at 6:35 p.m.

WILD CARD LEADERS!:

With Pawtucket's 2nd straight 2-1 loss in Charlotte, the Pigs now have a 0.5-game lead in the Wild Card race -- the first time they've been in a post-season positions since leading the North Division by 0.5-games on 7/19 (a span of 36 days)... They also increased their lead to 3.5 over COL; 4.0 over NOR and 4.5 over ROC.

* The Pigs won the Wild Card last season and swept the North champion Red Sox in 3 G before falling to COL in the finals.
