Lehigh Valley IronPigs News Release
The IronPigs (28-24) play Game Three of a four-game series against the first-place Gwinnett Braves (32-20) at Coolray Field... With a 4-0 loss last night, the Pigs have now dropped a season-high, six-consecutive games -- after reaching a high-water mark of 10-games above .500 on 5/23. They went 10-3 in their prior 13 contests prior to starting 0-6 on this eight-game South Division road trip... The Braves -- Atlanta's top affiliate -- have now won five-straight games and seven of their last nine affairs since a season-high, four-game losing streak.
LHP Tom Cochran (2-1, 4.55) will start for LHV against RHP Eric Junge (3-4, 4.44).
First-Pitch is at 7:05 p.m.
WITH THE LOSS LAST NIGHT, THE PIGS...:
Have lost a season-high, 6 straight games -- for the first time since 8/5/10-8/10/10.... The last time they lost 7 straight was during a season-high 8-G skid 7/26/10-8/2/10... The last time a Ryne Sandberg team lost 6 straight was with Tennessee (AA) in 2009, when the Smokies lost 12-straight 5/26/09-6/4/09... After that, Ryno went just about three full years without losing more than 5 G in a row.
