(Chillicothe, OH)- Two days after combining to score 31 runs, the Ironmen and Chillicothe Paints battled for 12 innings with the Ironmen winning 3-2. Dan Poskocil picked up his second win of the season and Cameron Palmer earned his second save.
Andrew Revello started for the Ironmen and went 7 strong innings. He allowed 5 hits and 2 unearned runs. He walked one and struck 5.
Sam Alvis delivered the go ahead run when he tripled home Andrew Kubuski in the top of the 12th inning. Kubuski had started the inning with a double. Alvis had saved the game for the Ironmen in the bottom of the 8th with the score tied at 2. With the bases loaded and one out, Ian Nielsen hit a deep fly ball to left. Alvis caught it at the warning track, 320 feet from home plate. He then threw a strike to catcher Mike Grieco to retire the runner from third base.
Nate Tomaszewski tied the game in the 7th with a pinch hit double to right field.
The Ironmen and Paints play again tomorrow night at 7:05 at Memorial Stadium.
