
Ironmen Win in 9th at Slippery Rock

(Slippery Rock, PA)- The Lorain County Ironmen are becoming proficient in last at bat wins. A night after winning their third extra innings game, the Ironmen scored the winning run in the top of the 9th inning to win 4-3 at Slippery Rock.
The inning started when Cody Koch single to leftfield. James DiBiasio came on to pinch run for Koch. He immediately stole second base, his 4th steal of the season. After an out, Sam Alvis singled to leftfield. DiBiasio got a great jump at second base and came all the way around to beat the throw to the plate to score what would be the winning run. Alvis finished the night 2-5 with a two run homerun and the game winning base hit and RBI.
Andrew Revello started the game for Lorain County. He went 6.2 innings. He gave up 3 earned runs. He walked 1 and struck out 6. Ben Bokor came on in relief and pitched 0.2 innings. Spencer Bryant pitched the 8th inning to pick up his first win of the season. Cameron Palmer pitched a perfect 9th inning to earn his Prospect League leading 5th save of the season.
With the win the Ironmen take over sole possession of second place in the Prospect League's East Division.
Lorain County is back at Slippery Rock Monday for a 1:05pm start. Kevin Hughes will start for the Ironmen and will be going for a league leading 4th win. The team will return to the Pipe Yard on Wednesday night for a 7:05 game against Slippery Rock.
