Hudson Valley Renegades News Release

The Aberdeen IronBirds defeated the Hudson Valley Renegades in front of 3,778 fans at Dutchess Stadium tonight. The 5-2 defeat was the Renegades' second loss in as many nights.

The IronBirds never trailed, scoring twice in the second inning on a David Anderson home run, and twice more on a Jeremy Nowak double in the fourth.

Renegades leadoff man Robby Price was 2-for-3 (his eighth multi-hit game of the season) with a walk and a run scored in the loss, the 22nd consecutive game he has reached base via hit or walk. Hudson Valley first baseman Phil Wunderlich drove in both of his team's runs with an eighth inning double. Nick Schwaner stole his ninth base in ten attempts this season, tying Price and Chris Winder for the team lead.

After replacing starter Devin Fuller (L,1-3), Hudson Valley reliever Merrill Kelly had his best outing of the season. Kelly tossed 3.1 innings of 1-hit, scoreless baseball, striking out four and walking none.

Tomorrow night at Dutchess Stadium, the Renegades and IronBirds will play for the tenth time this season. First pitch is at 7:05pm.
