Invasion Spoil Wilmington's Home Opener

In a Friday night game at a packed Schwartz Center in downtown Wilmington, former Sea Dawg Chuck Ward scored 21 points to lead the Cary Invasion to a 97 - 93 victory over the Wilmington Sea Dawgs. Jonathan Moore added18 points in the win for the Invasion.

The Invasion (4 - 0) took an early lead of 10 points in a very physical game and held it for much of the game. Wilmington made a run late in the 4th quarter to cut the lead to 2 points but ran out of the time in the comeback effort.

S. Threet scored 27 points in the losing effort for Wilmington (0 - 4).

The Invasion play next at home on May 22nd against the Fayetteville Crossover for "AAU Night" at the Herbert Young Center in Cary. Tip time is set for 5:00 with the doors opening at 4:30. For ticket information go to www.caryinvasion.com.

--Cary shot 48% from the field while Wilmington shot 40%.
