Cary Invasion News Release

In a very athletic Sunday afternoon contest in downtown Cary, former St. Augustine College star Chuck Ward scored 23 points and had 12 rebounds to power the Cary Invasion to a 120 - 99 win over the visiting Fayetteville Crossover team. Freddie Little also dropped 23 points in the win for the home team.

The game was tight through the first half, with the Invasion leading at the break by 3. But big runs by the Invasion (5 - 0) in each of the last two quarters broke the game open, resulting in leads of near 30 points late in the game. The energetic crowd at the Young Center was treated to a dozen or more spectacular dunks by both teams. Three players scored more than 20 points each for the Crossover (1-1).

The Invasion play next at home on Saturday, May 28th against the Wilmington Sea Dawgs for "Town of Cary Employee Night" at the Herbert Young Center in Cary. Tip time is set for 7:00 with the doors opening at 6:30.
