Kannapolis Cannon Ballers News Release
Salisbury, MD - Monday night's game scheduled game between the Kannapolis Intimidators (16-20, 48-58) and the Delmarva Shorebirds (17-19, 51-52) was rained out. The game will be played as part of a doubleheader Tuesday.
A thunder storm came through the Salisbury area, catching the Delmarva grounds crew off guard to the point where they had to stop mowing the outfield grass halfway through cutting it. It rained for nearly an hour, leaving standing water all over the field. The grounds crew worked on the field right up until game time, but the standing water in the outfield grass and on the warning track was deemed unplayable.
Tuesday's doubleheader will begin at 4:30 pm and will feature two seven-inning games.
