NYC Internationalz News Release

New York City, NY. Since the announcement of the NYC Internationalz professional basketball team scheduled to begin play in 2008, co-owners Harvey Li and Anwar Sharhan have been altruistic in their commitment to form unparalleled alliances throughout the city of New York. Creating a union of community awareness and sharing a vision unforeseen to many multi-cultural families, these young entrepreneurs and Brooklyn born "Boyz", try to lend a helping hand everywhere possible.

On Thanksgiving eve, the ABA NYC Internationalz fed the homeless community at the Bowery Mission with Governor Elliot Spitzer and his family. Governor Spitzer announced a $5 million funding incentive for emergency food networks, available to help food pantries and soup kitchens restock their inventory during the holiday seasons. The Governor was quoted stating "these volunteers help ensure that our state's most vulnerable residents - the indigent, children and seniors - receive the food they need to remain healthy and productive." The Internationalz would like to give special thanks to: Danny Davis, Bryan-Antwan Etkins, Shaun Miller and Maple Li for volunteering their services with co-owners Anwar Sharhan and Harvey Li at the Bowery Mission. Both owners reiterated, "without the help of these selfless individuals, our time at the Bowery Mission would not have been such an unprecedented success. We thank you all for your support and give you our sincerest blessings and humblest prayers during this holiday season."

Co-owner Harvey Li commented, "The NYC Internationalz have been off to a great start, and many cooperative organizations have begun to view us as an incentive-based grass roots association because of our emergent community service with the Veteran's Association, Junior Achievements, Big Brothers and Big Sisters of NYC, New York Cares and several other influential community groups."

"We are proud to represent the ABA and New York City at the forefront of what is being viewed as a pivotal movement for collaborative integration and diversity, sharing our views towards progression to aide the success of various communities throughout this vibrant city...as we grow, we learn, but it is only through community that we are able to build our true value, but its work remains priceless," stated co-owner Anwar Sharhan.
