Internationalz Defeat Albany Patroons In Inter-League Game

December 29, 2008 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
NYC Internationalz News Release

Albany, NY. The ABA NYC Internationalz defeated the CBA Albany Patroons 111-104 in Albany on Friday night in a hard-fought inter-league battle. On the same night, the ABA Kansas City Spartans beat the CBA Minot Skyrockets. The CBA has won several games in the series as the two leagues are very competitive.

Alexus Foyle had 33 points top lead the Internationaz in their first regular season game. Shawn Fountain had 33 also for Albany. Justin Marshall added 12 points and 7 rebounds for NYC.

"I don't know if it shows what the ABA can do," Internationalz Coach Michael T. Logan said. "It shows what we can do. I hope going forward that we play a lot more CBA teams. I kind of got screwed up with the different rules, but it shows that each league has talent - and some good talent too.

NYC led 91-89 with 5:35 left before going on an 8-0 run that included two baskets by Marshall and a breakaway dunk by Foyle off a turnover by Fountain (who formerly played for Indiana in the ABA). The Patroons never got closer than five after that.
