Key Win in San Jose
Inter Miami earned a key win for its playoff hopes and kept a clean sheet on the road when it topped the San Jose Earthquakes 0-1 at PayPal Park in its last MLS fixture on Wednesday, Aug. 3. Heineken Man of the Match Jean Mota scored the winning goal with a long-range effort in the first half to give the team the win in its first-ever clash against the Earthquakes. The goal was Mota's first in MLS, and second across all competitions for Inter Miami.
First Matchup in 2022 Against Montréal
Saturday's match will see Inter Miami take on CF Montréal for the first time in 2022 and overall fifth time in club history. The team will be hoping to replicate the result from the last outing between the sides, when Inter Miami earned a 2-1 home win with a Gonzalo HIguaín brace on July 31, 2021.
Scouting CF Montréal
The Canadian side will enter the match after earning a 1-2 victory on the road against the Columbus Crew in its past match on Aug. 3. So far in 2022, Montréal are third in the Eastern Conference standings with 39 points from 12 wins, eight losses and three draws. Forward Romell Quioto, who's tallied nine goals and three assists, has been the team's leader this campaign.
