Chicago Fire FC News Release
CHICAGO - Chicago Fire FC today announced a venue change for the Club's home match on Sunday, August 21 against New York City FC.
Due to the expected field condition at Soldier Field from a series of planned events at the venue, MLS has made the determination that the Aug. 21 match will be played at SeatGeek Stadium due to the league's policy on maintaining the condition of the field of play in accordance with MLS Standards. The match will kick off at 5:00 p.m. CT and will be broadcast on WGN, CF97 Live and transmitted locally in Spanish on Univision Radio.
"We understand that relocating a home game is a significant challenge for our fans," said Chicago Fire FC President of Business Operations Ishwara Glassman Chrein. "After consulting with the League office, it was determined that a change in venue was necessary for this match to ensure that both teams are competing in conditions that are consistent with League standards. We look forward to providing a great environment for our fans to enjoy the match and cheer on our team as we continue to push for a playoff berth."
