Inter Miami CF Closes Out 2023 Preseason with Fútbol Fiesta Featuring Austin FC Friendly

MIAMI - Inter Miami CF closed out its 2023 preseason preparations today with an exciting Fútbol Fiesta featuring an entertaining 2-2 draw against Austin FC in this afternoon's friendly at DRV PNK Stadium, while also debuting the La Noche, the Club's new away kit for the 2023 and 2023 campaigns. Attacker Corentin "Coco" Jean and midfielder Rodolfo Pizarro scored Inter Miami's goals in the match.

"I was really pleased with the players and the chances that we created, the enjoyment that they played with. We tried one or two things, but I supposed today it was more about wanting them to play with a little more freedom," said Inter Miami CF head coach Phil Neville. "Over the last 10 days we've put a lot of pressure and expectation on them about their levels of performance. We believe we're getting closer but we just got to back that up with performances and attitudes now on the pitch and I think today was a big step forward."

The friendly gave Inter Miami fans a first opportunity to watch several of the Club's recent signings in action on the pitch at DRV PNK Stadium: Kryvtsov, Negri, Stefanelli, Martínez, and Benjamin Cremaschi. Additionally, the team sported its recently unveiled new away jersey, La Noche, for the first time in this afternoon's fixture. Get your La Noche jersey HERE.

Amidst the Fútbol Fiesta festivities Inter Miami and Austin FC battled it out on the pitch in a thrilling 2-2 draw. Austin opened the scoring early on in the second half through an Emiliano Rigoini strike in the 53rd minute, but Inter Miami turned the proceedings around in exciting fashion. In the 61st minute, second-half substitute "Coco" Jean received a grounded through ball from fellow second half substitute Bryce Duke before beating Austin's goalkeeper with a tidy right-footed finish to the far post. Shortly after in the 68th, Pizarro put Inter Miami ahead with a beautiful right-footed curved shot from the left corner of the opposition's box to the back of the net at the far post. Austin then leveled the scoring in the 86th minute with a goal by Owen Wolff.
