Columbia Inferno News Release
(COLUMBIA, S.C.) Aug. 21, 2007- The Columbia Inferno have signed defenseman Sean Offers, head coach and director of hockey operations Troy Mann announced today. The 6-foot-1, 180-pound Offers returns to North America after having split the 2006-07 season between Kaufbeuren ESV of the German Bundesliga and Miesbach TEV of the German Oberliga. The 24-year-old scored one goal in seven games with Kaufberen ESV before moving on to Miesbach TEV, where he recorded 15 points (six goals, nine assists) in 27 games. "Sean gives us another puck-moving defenseman who is a great skater and who possesses very good skills," Mann said. "He adds good size to our defensive corps, and he has the ability to contribute on both the power play and penalty kill units."
Prior to playing in Germany, the St. Albert, Alberta native played four seasons with Dartmouth of the East Coast Athletic Conference from 2002-2006. Offers tallied 49 points (10 goals, 39 assists) and 186 penalty minutes in 131 games with the Big Green.
